what is keeping this thing ticking?
zendom harnesses the energy of solar power, along with a big bank of recyclable batteries. we've taken careful consideration into our battery choice and have chosen efficient and recyclable long life lead carbon batteries. this system has a pay-off period of less than 7 years and after that time you're making savings of around $2500 every year*. so for the life cycle of the batteries you would have saved in the region of $17000. thats enough to replace all the batteries for free, plus have some money left over for a small holiday.
what happens with waste?
for waste, we use an incredibly eco friendly composting toilet. this hooks into your standard flushing toilet on the inside, so it won't look any different. but under the hood, solid waste gets separated from liquid waste. the solid waste then goes through 3 composting stages, using our great friends worms. this will compost your waste super effectively as it does in nature. after its ready the resulting matter 100% safe and indistinguishable from soil. this means you can pop it straight in your garden. the grey water joins other grey water that comes from your sink, shower and washing machine and is taken through a uv filter removing 99% of bacteria, before getting filtered through natural process's where it can be used for the watering of your garden or released back into the environment.
where does my water come from?
we will work individually with different sites to come up with a plan. some water situations work better than others, but ideally your best option is to find somewhere with a stream. other options can include rainwater collection, or wells.
what does all this mean?
this means that zendom is extremely energy efficient and self reliant. having a positive impact on nature rather than negative. rather than than making your energy and waste needs someone else's problem, you'll have peace of mind that it is all dealt with immediately and safely. the lowest possible impact on the environment.
